21st Century Renaissance man with an astute acumen for developing and marketing business brands and events, Terrence Seaphus is a man for all seasons. He has the innate ability to develop, implement and execute an idea from conception to conclusion while maintaining committed to the goal in lieu of challenges one faces during the process. Terrence has been involved in music, poetry, events, consulting and education for the past 10 years integrating all elements, chiseling out a modicum of success. Success to him is not measured primarily in dollars, but can be attained through what is gained through the process such as character, integrity, resolution and relationships.
Literacy & Education. Terrence was instrumental in establishing the Sigma Beta Club, an academic high school group for young men through Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and continues in that vain with Literacy through Soul Poetry Café. Receiving a sponsorship for the Verizon Voices and Vision Tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, children were exposed to literacy through poetry workshops and public speaking. With such an overwhelming response from educators, the text entitled Balancing the Bias: Cracking the Mind thru Critical Thinking, was produced and presently utilized in some Chicago area high schools. Workshops have been conducted at John Hope College Prep, South Shore School of the Arts, The Academy at Evanston Township, Chicago Vocational, Kenwood Academy and Corliss High School. In addition, Terrence has developed literacy workshops at elementary schools in New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.
These workshops are derived directly from Balancing the Bias, and create a unique excitement for learning that interacts with music, video and expression. Students seldom
realize they are being taught critical thinking topics in history, math, english and other subjects.
Terrence is on leave from a Masters of Divinity Program at Chicago Theological Seminary, and has received a Masters in Advertising and Marketing from Northwestern University, and an undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in Communications and Media.
